Extraction is by steam distillation of the wood chippings.

History - wood used for cuilding, carving and French cabinet-making. Now most
wood goes to Japan for chopsticks. 

Odour - Sweet, woody, floral and slightly spicy.

Uses - Uplifting and enlivening with an overall balancing effect. Useful for meditation as it has a calming effect without causing drowsiness. Antibacterial and deodorant it is used in many skincare and bath products. Used to clear headaches especially if accompanied by nausea.  Useful for dry, sensitive and inflamed skin and treating aged skin as it is regarded as a cell stimulant and tissue regenerator. Stimulates the immune system.  

Blends well with - bergamot, frankincense, geranium, lavender, neroli, orange, rose, rosemary, sandalwood, ylang ylang. A complex fragrance it can be used alone.
Safety - Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitising.
