Niaouli ( Melaleuca viridifolia )
Niaouli; Melaleuca viridifolia
Extraction is by steam distillation of the leaves and young twigs.
odour - sweet, fresh, camphoraceous History - sometimes know as 'Gomenol' where it used to be shipped from.
Uses - considered an excellent antiseptic for pulmonaryinfections such as bronchitis, catarrh and sinusitis, sore throat, whooping cough. In skin care for acne, boils, cuts, oily skin, spots, ulcers and wounds. useful for washing infected wounds. Clears the head and is generally stimulating and uplifting.
Blends with eucalyptus, fennel, juniper, lavender, lemon, lime, myrtle, orange, pine, rosemary, peppermint, tea tree and thyme. The major constituents in our oil are available on request (GC/MS)
Safety - non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitising.
