Extraction is by steam distillation of the fresh, part dried or dried grass.

Odour - fresh powerful, lemony smell.

History - used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for rheumatic pain. Used in many
commercial preparations such as soaps, cleaning products and insecticides.

Uses - excessive perspiration and oily skin.  Mainly used as an insect repellent;
mixed with cedarwood virginia as a mosquito repellent.

Blends with - bergamot, cedarwood, geranium, lavender, lemon, orange, tea tree.

Safety - non-toxic, non-irritant, may cause dermatitis in some individuals.
